Certis USA to acquire certain assets of Ecogen Inc.
Certis USA, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co.,
Ltd. and one of the world's leading producers of biological pesticides,
has signed a letter of intent to acquire certain assets of the Bt biopesticide
and insecticidal nematode businesses owned by Ecogen, Inc. of Langhorne,
PA. Assets purchased by Certis would include Ecogen's products CryMax®,
Lepinox®, Condor®, Cruiser® and Raven® biological insecticides, as well as
Bt strain libraries for biopesticides, product registrations, trademarks,
patents or licenses and certain fixed assets.

New Device and Method for Flux-Proportional Sampling of Mobile Solutes
in Soil and Groundwater

The importance of monitoring the transport of organic contaminants in soil
and groundwater, and the pros and cons of existing sampling methods, are outlined.
A new, alternative sampling method is proposed, using a passive sampler that
functions as a water-permeable, semi-infinite sink for passing solutes of interest.

Mitsui & Co. to purchase assets of Thermo Trilogy Co.
New York, April 5th, 2001 Thermo Trilogy Corporation (Columbia, MD) and its parent
Thermo Electron Corporation have reached agreement with Mitsui & Co. Ltd. of Japan for the sales
of all the assets of Thermo Trilogy to Certis USA L.L.C., (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsui),
for an undisclosed sum. The sale is expected to be completed by the end of April, 2001.
